Introduction to Photosynthesis

Photosynthesis is the process which autotrophic organisms take in carbon dioxide and water with the presence of chlorophyll and light energy to produce glucose and oxygen.

Photosynthesis is the most important process in the world. This is because it makes chemical energy available to animals in a food chain. it also produces oxygen, the most important gas for living things to respire thus survive.

HEY Guys! These are the inputs and outputs of Photsynthesis!
Photosynthesis is the Conversion of Solar Energy.

The equation for Photosynthesis is ...
In other words,....
Carbon Dioxide from the air + Water from the soil, with the use of Light Energy, Produces Glucose +Oxygen

Thus the conditions for Photosynthesis are:

Requirements for Photosynthesis

1st requirement- Chlorophyll( green pigment in thylakoids which helps to capture light energy)
2nd requirement-Carbon Dioxide ( gas from air)
3rd requirement-Water (from the soil)
4th requirement-Sunlight(any light will do except green light)
5th requirement-Suitable soil and air temperature
6th requirement- NPK- Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potassium( fertiliser, nutrients for plant)

Lastly, the Glucose produced by photosynthesis can be converted to Starch or Sucrose.

That's all for now! Hope you have learnt more insightful knowledge about Photosynthesis through this journey so far! We will continue to provide you with even more knowledge about PHOTOSYNTHESIS:)
